Federal Tax Credit
ALERT: Woodstove Tax Credit voted in by Senate Committee
The U.S. Senate Finance Committee voted April 2 to extend the Residential Energy Efficiency (25C) Tax Credit, which includes a tax credit for biomass-fueled stoves. The tax credit is expected to pass the full Senate vote. If it passes, the extension will run until December 31, 2015. It includes 10% up to $500 tax credit for the appliance, venting, and pad. Stoves must meet a minimum efficiency of 75% based on the Canadian B415.1 standard.
