Federal Tax Credit

ALERT: Woodstove Tax Credit voted in by Senate Committee
The U.S. Senate Finance Committee voted April 2 to extend the Residential Energy Efficiency (25C) Tax Credit, which includes a tax credit for biomass-fueled stoves. The tax credit is expected to pass the full Senate vote. If it passes, the extension will run until December 31, 2015. It includes 10% up to $500 tax credit for the appliance, venting, and pad. Stoves must meet a minimum efficiency of 75% based on the Canadian B415.1 standard.

See HPBA's website, http://www.hpba.org/government-affairs/major-projects/25c-tax-credit-1 for a summary of the 25C tax credit, how it relates to biomass appliances, and for talking point ideas when calling your Senators' offices. Contact Rachel if you have any questions about the extension of the residential energy efficiency tax credit.
